The Fine Arts Department Band Program will be hosting a Summer Symphonic Camp for Woodwind Instruments to enhance the overall performance level of the band program and to prepare for the upcoming school year. This is a pilot program that will determine if the department will open the camp up to other instrumentalist (i.e brass, percussion). The Master-classes will be open to the woodwind musicians in the PCMS Band program and beginning students who attend the feeder elementary schools. Student participants must be PCMS band members or student participants at any of PCMS’s feeder elementary schools (Austin, Chesnut, Vanderlyn, Hightower, Kingsley, and Dunwoody)
Open to all Woodwind (flute, clarinet, saxophone, oboe and bassoon) Band Students; specifically for rising 5th-8th Grade Band Students
The Band Program has relationships with other Instrumental music instructors that will come in and serve as clinicians to teach skill specific to each individual instrument. Band students will work to perfect their performance technique through instrumental performance, breathing exercises and vocal exercises. Students will be perfecting good tone quality, rhythmic notation and ensemble cohesiveness.
